Welcome to Corust AI. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, mobile apps, and services (collectively, the "Services"), including our consumer-facing AI chat, generation tools, and related features.
By using or accessing the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
Our enterprise, API, or commercial team offerings are governed by separate agreements. This document applies only to individual/consumer use.
1. Eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction).
- If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you represent that you have parental or guardian consent to use the Services.
- We may require parental/guardian approval or verification in certain cases.
2. Your Account
- You must create an account to use most features and provide accurate, complete information.
- You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- Keep your login credentials confidential and notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
- If you register with a work, school, or organizational email address, that organization may claim administrative rights over the account (with notice).
3. Using the Services
You may use the Services only for personal, lawful, and non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms, our Acceptable Use Policy, and all applicable laws.
Prohibited Conduct (summarized from industry standards)
- Violate any law or regulation, or infringe the rights of any person or entity.
- Generate, upload, or share content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, hateful, discriminatory, deceptive, or adult/explicit (full list in Acceptable Use Policy).
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to discover the source code or underlying models of the Services.
- Use automated tools, bots, scripts, or scraping to access or interact with the Services (except through officially provided APIs).
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with any security, rate-limiting, or safety features.
- Misrepresent AI-generated content as being created by a human when doing so could cause harm or deception.
- Use the Services to develop competing AI models or products that directly compete with Corust AI.
We reserve the right to refuse service, suspend or terminate accounts, or remove content that violates these Terms.
4. Content
Your Inputs and Generated Outputs
- Inputs: You retain all rights in the text, images, files, or other content you upload or submit ("Inputs").
- Outputs: Subject to these Terms and applicable law, you own the outputs generated by the Services in response to your Inputs.
- Outputs may not be unique. Other users may receive similar or identical results.
- We may review, monitor, or moderate Content for safety, legal compliance, and service improvement.
License You Grant Us
You grant Corust AI a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to host, reproduce, use, modify, create derivative works of, distribute, and display your Inputs and Outputs solely as necessary to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Services.
- Train and develop our AI models (you can opt out of model training at any time; see Section 7).
- Ensure safety, prevent abuse, and enforce policies.
5. Intellectual Property
The Services, underlying models, technology, logos, and all related intellectual property are owned by Corust AI or our licensors. You receive no ownership rights in the Services themselves. You may not use our branding, trademarks, or trade dress without prior written permission.
6. Subscriptions, Payments and Billing (if applicable)
- Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis.
- You may cancel at any time via your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice.
- All payments are final except where required by law (e.g., cooling- off periods in certain jurisdictions).
- You are responsible for any applicable taxes.
7. Data Controls and Model Training
You can control whether your conversations are used to train or improve our models by going to Settings > Data Controls and toggling "Improve the model" (or equivalent) to OFF. This applies to future conversations.
Even if you opt out, we may still use flagged safety/review content or explicit feedback to improve safety and model behavior.
8. Termination and Suspension
You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time.
We may suspend or terminate your access (with or without notice) for violation of these Terms, legal requirements, or prolonged inactivity. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ends immediately, but certain sections (ownership, disclaimers, liability) survive.
9. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
The Services are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without any warranties of any kind.
We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that outputs will be accurate, reliable, or suitable for any particular purpose.
AI outputs are probabilistic and may contain inaccuracies, hallucinations, or outdated information. You should independently verify all critical information.
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Corust AI is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
- Our total aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of CAD $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Corust AI, our affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Services.
- Your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
- Any Content you submit or generate.
11. Dispute Resolution
- Any disputes will first be addressed through informal negotiation.
- If unresolved, claims will be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada.
- These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and Canada, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
- Class-action waivers and jury-trial waivers apply where permitted.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email, in-app notice, or on our website at least 30 days in advance where required by law. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. General
- If any provision is held invalid, the remainder remains in effect.
- Our failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver.
- These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Corust AI regarding the Services.
